BIBLE SEARCHES

Sometimes you will remember part of a Biblical quote, or a subject matter you want to explore but don’t know which book of the Bible to begin with, well, your best bet is to start a search with: www.biblehub.com. They have an excellent library of Bibles, Dictionaries, Commentaries, Concordances, Handbooks, etc. Their response to your search will give you an exact reference with the comparison language of many different Bible editions. They also give cross reference quotations and further similarities to pursue.

If you have an exact reference to check out but need a Bible, try one of these on the Internet. A favorite of mine, since it was the one I grew up with and has that marvelous old language of Thees and Thous, is the Douay-Rheims Bible Online: www.drbo.org. For those of you of the more current generation try the New American Bible: www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0839/_INDEX.HTM.

PUBLICATIONS

It has been my habit for many many years to start the day with coffee and meditation; neither my body nor my spirit can come alive without the aid of these two and if either body or spirit is deprived of these essential commodities, the day will not go well! One of the best meditation tools available is The Magnificat; it is a small paperback monthly, commercial free, that will give you daily Biblical readings, interpretations, spiritual insights, prayers, poetry, religious art critique, essays, and so much more… it is really a must have. The compact size makes it easy to transport in your purse, pocket, backpack or briefcase so you can have access to it at any time of the day when a spiritual break is needed. A yearly subscription is very reasonable and you can even request a sample copy to look over first… you will not be disappointed… try it at: www.magnificat.net.
