“When I found him whom my heart loves,

I took hold of him and would not let him go.”

(Song of Solomon 3:4)

Dear Friends -

At a very young age, upon the death of my father, I painfully became aware of the reality and surety of a loving Almighty God.  It was revealed to me by another, that while my father was in the hospital recovering from a heart attack, he was visited by a priest, and made his last confession just before he died. All the many coincidences around that happening were unveiled in time to a young girl, whose heart was crushed by sorrow, to make known to her for solace how the Hand of God works in everyday life.  The young are so much more receptive to the existence of a Heavenly Father, and I have always thought how wise for Catholics to Baptize their children at birth which starts them off on a life-long relationship with God.  At the age of reason (seven years old), a child makes their First Communion, which is the sacramental receipt at Mass of the Eucharist, the body of Christ. School days for me were blessed by attendance at a private academy for girls, under the tutelage of a religious order of nuns. Daily mass starts the school morning, which is peppered with a curriculum, and atmosphere strong in all facets of Catholicism until religion becomes an ingrained part of a child’s character. That education is reinforced with a family life that adheres to the obedience of God’s Will; thus, a foundation becomes well established in a typical Catholic child that becomes tried and tested through the years to know that a personal relationship with Almighty God is entirely possible, wanted, and cherished.

These details are relayed to explain to non-Christians how a relationship with God takes time and devotion; you don’t read The Bible in one sitting and know all about Him, no, it normally takes months, and years of prayer, listening, and interacting to obtain the surety to His Being.  Once that surety is obtained and cherished, nothing can make you relinquish belief in Him.  A child fed a healthy diet grows strong of body, just as a Catholic child fed a daily spiritual dose of God nurtures the development of His Image into their being. You are what you eat so they say, thus, junk in, junk out – or – imbibe the spiritual bread of life that fortifies one for righteous living. Year after year, decade after decade, everyday occurrences from the simplest of pleas for His help to the dire entreaties from the brink of despair, all receive a response of some kind with the balm of relief knowing it’s being handled. A calmness ensues where panic existed as you witness the situation changing… God is at work, you just know it!  Almighty God becomes your “go-to guy” for whatever… and things you can’t discuss with anyone else you spill out to Him for relief.  It becomes instinct to ask Him first for advice, direction, assistance, resolution, whatever, because an earthly solution isn’t at all clear or possible. When the worst of times occur with evil victimizing you with a spiritual death, that dark night of the soul is resurrected by Almighty God to provide a newness to your life, scattering away all the hurt and harm with love that you recognize can only be the work of Divine Providence.

Decades go by in your fervent union with Almighty God, and while the love grows between you, the recollection of times past where God has rescued, blessed, guided, and strengthen your every move, will serve to invigorate continued hope for yourself or others.  It is an act of love to reveal the surety of The Blessed Trinity to another, for it gives them the greatest possible companion for life unending. You have found the truest love possible to embrace for all eternity, and while nothing can intimidate you to deny His being or let Him go, it is by revealing His magnificent love that you bring Him more alive in this world that needs His love so desperately. Non-Christians, if you haven’t found Him, search until you do find Him, then take hold of His hand and never let go.

SHAME ON YOU, SUE MONK KIDD

This well-known author passed the limits of decency with her effort, “The Book of Longings” in which she details the marriage of Jesus Christ to Ana, a self-proclaimed writer, and activists for woman’s rights, not unlike Kidd herself.  The desecration and distortion of historical facts and religious beliefs in this tedious diatribe of feminist theology are atrocious to the point of blasphemy.  Kidd takes holy and sacred truths and drags them through the filthy mire of speculative innuendo to poorly humanize first century people with twentieth-century values!  The one-time Christian, Kidd, takes the Son of God and uses Him as a back-up necessary to promote the ideals of a self-centered non-conformist totally obsessed with, and prays to, pagan goddesses as supreme beings, rather than having Ana being enthralled by the Divinity of her own husband!  Ana is arrogantly conceited, concerned with nothing but her own ideas, efforts, and desires, making her a very shallow unlovable character, so it is far from a love story because she is only sexually connected to her husband by the author, and thus, Kidd is never able to really make Ana believable as one with Him in anything else.  Kidd places Ana in and around real Biblical events and connects her to Christ’s true inner circle of family and friends, but never with any depth, but rather by a distortion of true occurrences to make Ana fit in which fails completely for any reader who knows The Bible. In this obscene graffiti of facts, Kidd gives Ana a brother, none other than Judas naturally, who does everything different than the real Judas did, and a husband whom Kidd can hardly deviate from the facts long enough to produce the, “and they lived happily ever after” scenario, for the reader knows exactly where this plot has to end.

The author and her publisher are quick to point out that diligent research for authenticity was undertaken for this book, but it hardly shows through anywhere when poetic license is used to thumb one’s nose at real Jewish life for the fantasy fabricated existence Kidd would prefer in order to promote current cultural agendas. Any research by Kidd into the authentic Jesus would have found the validity, reasoning, and sacredness to His never marrying, and most importantly, that Ana with her lack of humility, would never be His choice for anything but condemnation with her belief in false gods… and that too is not unlike Kidd who places self-promotion above all else… her arrogantly inflated ego justifies ridiculing Jewish life, Almighty God, and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ.  Profiting at the expense of Almighty God is a big NO-NO that Kidd would have found out if she had researched The Bible, which clearly delineates the wrath of Christ as He went through the temple, whip in hand, brutally expelling all those that used His Father for gain. (Matthew 21:12-13) Kidd certainly should know the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) which mandates that no false gods are permitted, and don’t be a liar… but, and even if you are the author of a book of fiction, YOU MAY NOT LIE OR DISPARAGE GOD IN ANY MANNER.  As an ex-Christian, Kidd should have known to sin has consequences, the worst being the ridicule of Almighty God which earns eternal damnation!  Christ emphatically declared that to all when he said, “Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never be forgiven, but is guilty of eternal sin." (Mark 3:29)

Being a well-known author could inflate one’s ego to assume that whatever she writes will be bought, so she capitalizes on that fame with sensationalism that grabs headlines by her shocking assumptions.  No concern is assumed for the salacious disregard of all that is sacred to thousands and thousands of people because when you no longer believe in Almighty God, you make yourself a god free to do whatever you please. Well, you are not a god, or goddess, or whatever your feminist theology may promote Sue Monk Kidd, but you are a blasphemer without scruples.  There is undoubtedly a special place in hell for atheists who malign The Blessed Trinity – a place where your ignorance will learn too late what His reality truly encompasses.  You made-up a Christ that was all wrong instead of admiring and promoting His truths, and regardless of your inability to believe in Him, His reality and truths will remain forever, while you will rot in hell for all eternity. Shame On You for leading others astray of the true God… Shame On You for blaspheming God for personal gain… Shame on You, a pitiful ignorant wordsmith, who took on The Word and His Father who will render judgment on your soulless being… what an arrogant conceited fool your gods have made of you.
